Big Mountain Freeride Special with Sam Kuch

Big turns. Pillows. Cliffs. Sends. Freeride is the freedom of choice – as different as the terrain and as individual as the rider and there aren’t many better or more unique freeriders than Sam Kuch. Spend the day exploring the endless backcountry terrain of Arlberg with freeride tips and tricks from Sam Kuch. He is on hand to help you get the most out of your style and maximize your options to play with the terrain and snow conditions.

THE CLINIC:
Skiing is already a dynamic form of movement. Modern freeriding is even more dynamic. In this clinic, Sam Kuch and your guide will help you evaluate the terrain, look for and discuss possible lines and analyze your style to work on your personal potential. The course takes place on-piste and off-piste.

 

EDUCATIONAL GOALS:
# Learn modern skiing techniques and implement them into demanding terrain

 

LEVEL: Advanced, participation only with skis

Ascent: Physical condition for appr. 1 h ascent on skis (appr. 400m)

Descent: Good off-piste or ski touring experience and a safe technique in open and steep terrain over 40 degrees is required.

 

GEAR / EQUIPMENT:

# Complete freeride equipment (touring or freeride skis, touring or freeride boots, poles), Emergency equipment (avalanche transceiver, probe, shovel)

The meeting point is at 9 am at the Freeride Village. Welcome from your mountain guide and Sam Kuch. Equipment and safety check. Ascent with the ski lift, followed by a quick check on the riding level. Workshop in the ski resort and backcountry of St. Anton. You will learn a modern freeride style from professionals in various practice sessions. Lunch break on the mountain/optionally in a restaurant. Return to the Freeride Village at around 3 pm.
